Welcome to the Iouar Stud website.  We hope you will enjoy looking at our stock, which we have bred with emphasis on type, movement and beauty.  The first registered stock to the Iouar prefix was in 1995, being a Section A called Iouar Menna (Criccieth Chief x Crygmelyn Daisy) but over the years both my mother and I have been fortunate to buy good foundation stock, perhaps the most influential being Thorndonpark Harriet (Trevallion Harry x Thorndonpark Glory) who has been the foundation mare for all my stock. 

Harriet clicked particularly well with Derwen Desert Express and her three daughters: Iouar Lady Jessica (f.1998),  Iouar Ellie Lee (f.1999) and Iouar Catherine (f.2004), have become the basis of my stud today. 

The name Iouar comes from the farm where my mother Menna Griffiths lives: Pantiouar which is between Bronwydd and Llanpumsaint, near Carmarthen.
